Technology Troubles

It’s been a long wait for my new computer! My smartphone is great for lots of things, but writing posts is not my favourite thing to use it for. Give me a full keyboard any day! I have been putting off many things that I usually keep up with, since not having a working desktop has been an all-too-convenient excuse.  I haven’t even kept up with reading my favourite blogs (I plan on trying to catch up!).
I almost hate to admit it, but I have an important deadline at work next week. I think this is the ultimate reason for my procrastination. I would rather keep the extra work from infringing on my family  time, and what better way than to have no Internet at home? I’ve been getting a bit more stressed about it in the last couple of days, but in the end, I think it’s sometimes important to have a dividing line. My family already gets a lot fewer hours of my time than my job does. I love my work, but it’s been said that at the end of this life, there aren’t too many people who would say they wished they’d spent more time at work.
In the middle of my stress and my never-ending search for balance of the demands in my life, therefore, I am taking time to be thankful for my blessings. I’ve been able to spend more time with my husband and my kids. I have two new songs in the go, and it’s hard to top the excitement of that process. My gardens are looking great, and I’ve even taken time to sit out on my porch and enjoy the view of all my flowers. I have been feeling that little nudge in a corner of mind, hearing that familiar “Pssst..remember me?” God sees the big picture that’s beyond my limited view. While I saw my lack of a computer as a limitation, He saw an opportunity to get back a little more of my attention. So now I can say in reply…”Thanks…I needed that.”
