Thanks to Rev. Jeff Wilson at www.drawingfromthewell.wordpress.com for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I am honoured, and happy to accept this award, but I admit, I’ve taken a ridiculously long time to act on it. I’d like to think that I was waiting for just the right moment, but truthfully, I was a little overwhelmed by trying to complete the steps required, especially to do more reading. I wanted to do a good job of it, and my mental in-box was very cluttered in the months before Christmas. To all you bloggers who are able to maintain your focus and faithfully post on a more regular basis–how I admire you! There are so many great blogs out there. In the meantime, I will keep plugging away in my little corner.
Upon accepting the Liebster Award, there are a few rules that need to be followed:
Link back the blogger that tagged you
Nominate ten others and answer the questions of the one who tagged you
Ask ten questions for the bloggers you nominate
Let your nominees know of their award
My answers to Jeff’s questions:
1. What is you favorite verse in the Bible?
It changes according to what I need at the time, but one that stands out is Ephesians 6:16 “At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One.” This verse shored me up through some very tough times.
2. What is your favorite Bible story?
The story of St. Paul’s conversion is awesome! St. Paul had the courage to stand up and be who God called him to be, in spite of what people said about him, and in spite of any and all obstacles in his path. I pray to St. Paul to intercede for me when I feel I need courage like that.
3. What was the first car that you owned?
A white 1991 Plymouth Acclaim LX. It made it to around 450,000km, but it almost died many times before that point, including hitting a deer. The deer kept running, but my car needed a body job. My current car is already at 390,000km, but since it’s a diesel, I’m told it’s just nicely broken in.
4. Name your favorite soda?
I don’t drink soda (aka “pop” around here), but I used to love the Crush variety packs at my mémé and pépé’s house. Cream soda and grape were my favourites. I also went through a Mountain Dew phrase in high school. Now, I can’t even remember the last time I had pop.
5. iPhone or Android?
6. Mac or PC?
7. Why did you start your blog?
I wanted to share news about my music project with people, but along the way, I discovered how much I love writing, as well as the whole world of great blogs out there to read. I wish I had much, much more time to spend on it. When I get into reading, commenting and posting, my family treats me a bit like that dotty old aunt with quirky ways, but overall, they’re pretty patient about it. It’s nice to feel I’m allowed to have a hobby! I have finally managed to reorganize my blog so that it’s easier for my music fans to find what they want, but the writing and the music are very much tied together, since both spring from my life.
8. Where did you grow up (city and state)?
I grew up in Canada, on a family farm in rural southwestern Ontario.
9. How many siblings do you have?
I’m the oldest of eight, with one brother and six sisters. Now that we’re all grown up and married, I think we number 35 when we get together at my parents’ house for family gatherings. If I count my husband’s side, my kids have 20 aunts and uncles, plus 15 first cousins, but the number is still growing–three more babies are expected in 2014. Lots of fun!
10. Breathe a sigh of relief…the questions are DONE!
I have come across so many great blogs in the past week or so, it’s awesomely inspiring! I’m an elementary school teacher, and after so many years of working with little people, I hate leaving anyone out–choosing ten was difficult! That said, I did manage to come up with a list. Some of these blogs are new to me, and I can’t wait to read more. Others are old favourites, you could say. Although I’m not sure all of these bloggers will accept, my nominees for the Liebster Award are…

Here are your ten questions, with no apologies for Canadian spelling:
1. What book that you’ve recently read has made the greatest impression on you?
2. What is your favourite song (of all time, or just for now), and why?
3. Do you have any pets?
4. What’s your favourite home-cooked meal?
5. If you could spend one week in a city (or other place) of your choice, where would you go and why?
6. What’s the best thing about your neighbourhood?
7. What’s your least-favourite household chore?
8. What’s your favourite place to go when you need to recharge spiritually?
9. If you were allowed to catch a glimpse of where you might be ten years from now, would you want to? Why or why not?
10. What motivates you to keep posting on your blog?
There… piece of cake! For the nominees, if you choose to accept the award, I hope you enjoy answering the questions. I look forward to reading your responses! For all the readers who might stop by, I hope you enjoy them, too! All of these blogs are worth a visit, even if it’s just once to go to check them out.
Happy blogging, and happy reading!
